With people like these leading us, how to be a harmonious country?

Why them Malays so bising whenever people are questioning the Malay's rights? They say the nation really want to protect the rights of the Malays. What about the indigenous people of Malaysia? We were here since the beginning too. What? They can't stand on their own without the privileges?

What is he talking about Hak Orang Melayu? Ever heard of Hak Sama Rata? And what is he talking about Ketuanan Sultan Melayu? I have said this before so many times and I am going to say this again; I do not believe in the monarchy system.

Why do we need the Kings anyway? So they can be the symbol of Malays supremacy?
Malays are class 1 citizen and others are citizen class 2? Fuck this shit. I demand equality for everybody in this country and stop using the 13th May tragedy as an excuse.

Congratulations to Zarim & Anida

I attended Zarim's wedding reception last night at Restoran Seri Melayu. To those who are into the local hip hop scene, you might know him as MicWrecka, an emcee from the group The Rebel Scum. They say he is Rogue Squadron’s very own RZA (of Wu Tang Clan) and just for fun, we decided to do the Wu hand gesture for the group photo.

By the way, do check out MicWrecka and few others from Rogue Squadron at The Bomb Shelter this coming Wednesday at Cloth & Clef. Its free!

Family Tradition Art Exhibition

Last night I got the chance to attend the opening for the exhibition held at this new art space located in Bangsar, Zinc.

I really like the stuffs that were on the exhibition especially the vinyl action figures by Michael Lau and finally got the chance to look at the collection in front of my eyes for the first time after reading about it online for quite some time.

Without a doubt, the motion picture Godfather gave an impact to a lot of us and especially to the artistes that displayed their artwork at the exhibition.

Follow the Leader by Mike Shinoda

“When I heard about the ‘Godfather’ theme, the first thing I thought of was the over-the-top influence that trilogy had on rap music. For as long as I can remember, rappers have been comparing themselves to characters in the Godfather films, idolizing the imagery, and even dressing like the characters. That’s why, in this image, I had to put Marlon Brando in the shoes of Rakim. Both carved out a part for many artists to follow” – Mike Shinoda.

SK3 by Michael Lau

Another piece that caught my attention was SK3 by Michael Lau. In this painting, it features three recognizable characters of Stanley Kubrick’s films. I have always been a fan of Kubrick although sometimes I do not clearly understand his work it is always interesting to dig deeper and decipher his films.

Exhibition opens for public starting tomorrow until 19th December 2009, from 6 to 9PM only at Zinc, Bangsar. For more information, visit Mindstyle or Zinc.
